Do you know someone supporting our healthy community?

The Sunshine Coast Biosphere Healthy People Award recognises those supporting our healthy and liveable region. If you know a coach, mentor or volunteer doing just that, nominate them by April 30.

Nominations are open for the Sunshine Coast Biosphere Community Awards. If you know an individual, organisation or business, making a contribution to our region, nominate them by April 30.
Nominating is easy and whether it's the soccer coach that goes over and beyond to help out, the volunteers who give their time or the innovators who strive for more sustainable solutions in business, you're sure to make their day.
Each year, everyone nominated reports feeling surprised, special, humbled and greatful that someone took the time to recognise their efforts.
Receiving a nomination really makes a difference and might even give them the extra energy to keep giving.
Trevor Picken 2024 Healthy People recipient
In 2024 Trevor Picken was awarded a Sunshine Coast Biosphere Community Award for his efforts in helping all children, regardless of physical, developmental, or cognitive challenges, participate in soccer.
He received the Healthy People award, which recognises the outstanding contributions of individuals or groups making a significant contribution towards the sporting, recreational, or health and wellbeing of our region.

Trevor’s nomination commended his exceptional leadership as the manager of the all-abilities team within the Sunshine Coast Churches’ Soccer Association.
‘His dedication extends beyond the field, volunteering countless hours to ensure the program’s success.’
Trevor is helping make our Sunshine Coast Biosphere a special place to be. If you know a local legend, nominate them in one of eight categories on council’s website by April 30.
