Guided environmental walks

The Sunshine Coast region has some of the best Enviromental Visitor Centres in Queensland.

All of these centres have volunteers on hand to guide you and tell you about what's new and interesting, especially as seasons change.

There are a range of guided walks hosted by volunteer guides, self-guided walks and other activities in the garden.

Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve

Walking Tracks

Rainforest guides help you to discover more on your walk through the reserve.

Pre-booked guided walks of the rainforest are available 9am – 3.30pm daily.

Walks are conducted by volunteer guides who have an intimate knowledge of the forest and can point out many sights that you might otherwise miss.

All school and other organised groups (e.g. community groups and tours) must pre-book their visit, regardless of whether they are seeking a guide. This helps to ensure all visitors have a positive experience, avoids a clash with another group and minimises overcrowding and damage to the reserve.

Visit the Mary Cairncross website for more info

Guided Bushwalking

If you're interested in exploring further afield and are unsure where to start or don't want to go it alone, we recommend joining a bush walking group. Better still, Healthy Sunshine Coast offers a series of guided walks hosted by experienced local club, Sunshine Coast Bushwalking Inc.
