Did you know that the 'salad' was first popularized way back in the Roman Empire. It first appeared in the form of raw leafy vegetables covered in salty, oily dressing (the word salad comes from sal, the Latin word for salt). Back in those early salad eating days (circa 1st century CE), ancient Romans gathered and layered raw vegetables, drizzling vinegar, oil, and herbs over top to create the world's first salad.

Whilst salads evolved and became increasingly complexity through the ages the original Roman version - the garden salad - retained its simplicity and still lives with us today, largely unchanged.

And with lettuce prices the way they have been lately, it’s time to take matters into your own hands! Never Pay $45 for a lettuce again?

Well, maybe you never paid $45 for a lettuce in the first place, but that doesn’t change the fact that growing your own lettuce is super easy, takes up hardly any space and will have you out in the patch, picking your own fresh salad in no time.
